Systematically identifying the scientific exchange needs of Key Opinion Leaders, investigators and other stakeholders in patient care, establishing strong professional relationships, providing credible scientific expertise and serving as a bridge to Shire Global Medical, Global Clinical and exte al partners ? Responding effectively to requests for scientific exchange ? Supporting design and implementation of scientific programs with exte al experts and Global Medical Affairs ? Supporting local team disease area and product knowledge through scientific training ? Maintaining personal expertise in relevant disease areas and MSL best practices **Responsibilities** **50** % Systematically identifying the scientific exchange needs of KOLs, investigators and other stakeholders in patient care, establish strong professional relationships, provide credible scientific expertise and serve as a bridge to Shire Global Medical and Global Clinical ? Develop and maintain ?peer-to-peer? scientific relationships with key thought leaders in healthcare, academia and gove ment organizations per KOL plans and as requested by KOLs, including the management of strategic scientific partnerships and scientific exchange ? Serve as a bridge between as a bridge between HCPs and Shire medical, clinical and exte al partners ? Facilitate 1:1 and group scientific interactions with healthcare professionals ? Participate in country-level KOL planning ? Maintain KOL plans and timely, accurately and compliantly update medical customer relationship management system ? Maintain awareness of and access to inte al and exte al information sources available to support high-quality scientific exchange, and coordinate high-quality interactions between these resources and exte al customers **20%** Respond effectively to requests for scientific exchange ? Respond within defined timeline and quality standards to unsolicited inquires from HCPs and other stakeholders received by Global Medical Affairs and referred to GMA by other Shire functions ? Support development of appropriate responses to unique inquiries as required, such as the presentation of scientific evidence and medical education **20%** Support design and implementation of scientific programs with exte al experts and Shire Global Medical Affairs ? Provide scientific input and participate into local medical and crossfunctional initiatives ? Provide medical support to Shire?s clinical research programs and registries ? Contribute to Country Medical Brand Plan development and implementation **5%** Support local team disease area and product knowledge through scientific training ? Contribute to medical training of field-based commercial personnel as assigned ? Track and record training activities per established SOPs **5%** Maintaining personal expertise in relevant disease areas and MSL best practices ? Maintain knowledge base and scientific expertise on all assigned Shire disease areas and products ? Develop and update knowledge of applicable pharmaceutical guidelines and regulations, including ICH, GCP, Rx&D Code of Ethical Practices and company policies ? Develop/increase knowledge of medical literature and critical appraisal of scientific publications ? Attend and report on relevant regional, national and inte ational scientific and patient advocacy meetings as assigned **Education and Experience Requirements** ? A medical degree (MD, PharmD, RN or PhD or equivalent is required) ? >2 years of experience in biopharmaceutical medicine in Medical Affairs, Clinical Research or Field Sales is required ? Experience in medical affairs is preferred ? Experience in customer-facing roles is preferred **Key Skills, Abilities, and Competencies** ?
